Great Fabric on pouch, waistband holds up okay
July 9, 2016
With five boys between 5 and 16 years old I think I have a general idea of what works for football. My oldest won't wear the jockstrap-style cause he is embarrassed in the locker room. For my younger four kids this is the go-to cup supporter for them. We have tried the Duke, Flarico, Bike, McDavid, Rawlings, Shock Doctor, and UnderArmour.
Gosh, I feel like the "jockstrap Mom" LOL
It is important to get the right size because you don't want it to ride up or move a lot. It seems silly to write a review. My husband says to just buy the cheapest thing, but my boys have strong opinions about comfort, including my 14 yr old who has a tactile sensitivity disorder. This is the only cup supporter he will wear. The waistband is firm but soft (wash it a few times before use) and the pouch is silky smooth. For my second youngest, Carl, I made the mistake of getting a size too large and his foreskin kept getting pinched. You want the fit to be tight but not restricting.
Also, the fabric is breathable (if that is a word).
What else? It launders well (cold wash, hang dry). You can just put the cup itself in the dishwasher.
ProsIt is really smooth feeling and comfortable. The cup size is adequate if you have the boy pointing upward. Wicks the sweat away.
ConsNo anti-microbial fabric treatment. Smaller sizes not small enough for peewee football players.
