All-Star SystemSeven Chest Protector Design Features

Reduced Weigth + Increased Ventilation
  • The weight has been reduced by using a mult-level foam padding system. Numerious thin layers of foam have been handpicked and layered for specific qualities, such as breathability, flexibility, and dampening. Strategically placed lightweight plastic plates around the collar bone, throat, and sternum allow the chest protector to take the brunt of the impact, not you.
The U-Bars
  • The side "U-Bars" help the chest protector confrom to a player's body while at the same time square up the from to present a flat surface for control while blocking balls. If you get hit while wearing this chest protector, then you are doing something wrong.
Between the Bars
  • The newly designed chest protectors have made leaps and bounds to help with controling wild pitches. With the new design and placement of their foam, losing balls is a thing of the past. The ball will literally drop down right before you, no need to chase it...you're welcome.
Delta Flex
  • The Delta Flex harness is constructed with wider straps which won't dig in and also features a neoprene 'triangle' which keeps the chest protector right where it is supposed to be. Straps are 100% adjustable from 4 points, allowing for a custom fit.

Using the Catcher's Gear Fit Guide

Disclaimer: As with any fit guide or sizing chart, there is a margin of error. This guide is designed to provide an accurate assessment of the needed size for each individual piece.

  • Please note, the "fit" from one manufacturer to the next may differ
  • Age is not always indicative of the correct size needed, but more times than not is accurate
  • At times, sizes will overlap in the charts below. This can be due to the different manufacturers sizing. Be sure to size accordingly
  • Generally, catcher's gear designed for Tee Ball, Jr Youth, or Youth play are gender neutral as far as the fit is concerned

How to Determine Catcher's Helmet Size:

  • Place a measuring tape around your head, just above the ears where your hat would naturally rest
  • Take the total circumference (distance around) in inches and reference the chart below
    • This measurement will determine your "Fitted Hat Size" which is how catchers helmets are sized
    • For example, if you measured 22 ¾", then your fitted hat size is 7 ¼"
  • Each individual helmet's size range will be provided in the Item Description
  • Typically, there are two sizes of catchers helmets available:
    • Youth (Small)
      • Most Youth helmets are generally sized between: 6 1/8" - 7" (Individual sizes may vary)
    • Adult (Large)
      • Most Adult helmets are generally sized between: 7" - 7 3/4" (Individual sizes may vary)
