This mask feels lighter than my old-style mask because the weight is balanced and fits very comfortably.
The other big difference is the elimination of blind spots due to the thinner Titanium cage.
Only down side seems to be the use of a rigid neck pad that makes holding the head level rather difficult. I found it hard to keep the mask level so I could see out of the slot when down in the set position. Oddly enough, adding a hat under the helmet (which fits easily) seemed to fix the problem (perhaps because it raises the helmet up and allows the head to rotate farther). The down-side to this solution is that it defeats the ample ventilation by wearing a hat.
I haven't been hit in the mask yet so I can't provide any feedback on the "shock" feature.
